But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, “Where is he?”

And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, ‘He is a good man:’ others said, ‘Nay; but he deceiveth the people.’

Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

***About the midst of the feast***

Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

And the Jews marvelled, saying, “How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?”

Jesus answered them, and said, “My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.”

Then said some of them of Jerusalem, “Is not this he, whom they seek to kill? But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?”

“Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.”

Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

And many of the people believed on him, and said, “When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?”

The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

***The 21st day of the seventh month***

***The third day of the week***

***Also, 10/14/0032***

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”

Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, “Of a truth this is the Prophet.”

Others said, “This is the Christ.”

But some said, “Shall Christ come out of Galilee? Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”

So there was a division among the people because of him.

And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, “Why have ye not brought him?”

The officers answered, “Never man spake like this man.”

Then answered them the Pharisees, “Are ye also deceived? Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him? But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.”

Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,) “Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?”

They answered and said unto him, “Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.”

And every man went unto his own house.

Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

***The 22nd day of the seventh month***

***The fourth day of the week***

***Also, 10/15/0032***

And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, “Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.”

“Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?”

This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him.

But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”

And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, “Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?”

She said, “No man, Lord.”

And Jesus said unto her, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”

As he spake these words, many believed on him.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

They answered him, “We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, ‘Ye shall be made free?’”

Jesus answered them, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, ‘Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.’”

Then answered other Jews, and said unto him, “Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?”

Jesus answered, “I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.”

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, ‘If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.’”

Then said the Jews unto him, “Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, ‘If a man keep my saying, he shall never’ taste ‘of death.’ Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?”

Jesus answered, “If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God.”

Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
